Making use of new broadband acoustic technology: size discrimination and high resolution fish counting in support of fisheries management

A fully funded* PhD studentship is available to carry out a research project on the application and development of broadband sonar in marine biology. The selected candidate will carry out field and laboratory work around Scotland in conjunction with Marine Scotland Science to use a new broadband echosounder to size fish and detect demersal fish close to the seabed.
