The Acoustical Society of America is seeking students to serve as Student A/V Room Monitors during the ASA Fall Meeting in New Orleans to be held 4-8 December 2017 at the New Orleans Marriott.

Room Monitor Tasks:

The major tasks include assisting session chairs in uploading presentations onto the laptops provided, assisting in the microphone transition between speakers, contacting the professional A/V technicians and meeting organizers in the event of any problems, delivering items to the session chairs, and assisting the session chairs in deleting presentations from the laptops at the end of the session.

Benefits:

Student A/V Room Monitors will be paid $10.00 USD/hour (to be paid after the meeting). Room monitors also will be interacting with various people in the field, so students often find this opportunity useful.

Scheduling:

Available times are split between morning and afternoon sessions: 7:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and1:00 p.m. to about 6:00 p.m. each day from Monday (4 December) through Thursday (8 December).Friday sessions are only in the morning and end at 12:00 p.m.

The minimum commitment is 2 sessions (note that some sessions are coupled and equal 1 full session), and 3 sessions in instances where a session is less than 2 hours in duration. Students are welcome to request assignment to additional sessions. See the calendar of sessions for details of specific sessions.
